Behind the Designs

Hey, I’m Tymika.

The designer, detail obsessed creative and the person behind Tymika.J Designs.

I’ve always loved that little wow moment when you walk into a space and everything just feels right. The way it flows, the details you notice and even the ones you don’t. That feeling is at the heart of what I do.

With 8+ years of experience across residential, hospitality, health and education projects, I’ve worked across everything from kitchens and bathrooms to bespoke homes and multi-million dollar projects. It’s given me a love for creating spaces that balance beautiful design with the practical details that make them work.

I’m naturally organised, a little obsessed with the details and genuinely love seeing a project come together. Most importantly, I want you to feel comfortable, heard and confident throughout the process. Design should feel exciting, not overwhelming.

I’m drawn to modern spaces with warmth, character and a sense of timelessness. Big architectural moments, oversized furniture, beautiful doors and a good staircase will always get my attention.

Ultimately, I want to create spaces that feel completely true to you, work beautifully and give you that little wow moment every time you walk through the door.

Outside of the studio, you’ll usually find me doing something creative, travelling, spending time with friends and family or, more recently, attempting to look graceful on the ice, having recently taken up figure skating and joining a synchronised ice skating team. When I’m not doing that, I’m very happy curled up on the couch binge watching a good series while scrolling pinterest.

That’s what Tymika.J Designs is all about. xx
